A Message From Anthony

Hi there, Anthony with Ant's Plants your local lawn fertilization and weed control team. Just finishing up an application here and noticed the lawn is very dry so I wanted to make a quick video about it.

What's Happening To Your Lawn Right Now

Lawn Dormancy

Lawns are going into what's called dormancy due to the extreme heat and the lack of rain we've seen this year so far.

No Need To Panic

We believe the lawns will spring back as soon as we get rain and the cooler nights that come with the August month.

Extreme Heat Impact

The combination of high temperatures and low rainfall is the primary cause of stress and dormancy in lawns this season.

Our Top Recommendation: Aeration & Overseed

We would absolutely recommend aeration and overseed especially this year. Although it's a great practice to do every year, it's especially important this year to help mitigate some of the damage — if any — we see due to dormancy and the extreme heat.

Reduces Heat Damage

Aeration loosens compacted soil and helps your lawn recover from drought stress more effectively.

Promotes New Growth

Overseeding fills in thin or bare areas caused by dormancy, giving your lawn a fresh, healthy start.

A Yearly Best Practice

Even in normal years, aeration and overseed is one of the best things you can do to maintain a thick, lush lawn.
